Why not laser scanning?

Laser and camera systems have made huge strides in the last decade, and are certainly the future of measuring—in fact, we already use laser scanning for many of our projects where a 3D computerized representation is desired for tweaking design elements or for other purposes. However, touch probe scanning has several definite benefits over laser scanning.
